Very nice wallpapers but there’s a daily limit of only 5 wallpapers unless you upgrade.

I love this app. The wallpapers are beautiful and easy to access. Every few days I launch the app and update by wallpaper. It keeps my computer new and vibrant.

The first thing I noticed is that there’s no way to search all in a category. You must choose Recent, Random, or Popular. This is missing a simple all-parameter search present in even the most rudimentary search interfaces. Second thing I noticed is that the Preferences are set to always ask before setting download as wallpaper, but it does the opposite: immediately sets download to current wallpaper. Preferences is also set to not download on double click but (you guessed it) does just the opposite: downloads on double click. So, how do you see what you’ve downloaded and how do you use them? Simple! Go to System Preferences, Desktop/Screensaver, click + to navigate to the folder where your downloaded pics are stored by Revealing Library in your user folder by holding down the option key when you select Go in Finder and navigating to the library... then… ready? User>Library>Containers>com.stuckpexelinc.wallpapershdlite>Data>Library>Application Support>WallpapersHDLite and add that folder to the list of folders you can access through Desktop/Screensaver in System Preferences. Now that’s what I call a friendly user interface! All kidding aside (and I was laughing when I realized how phenomenally clunky and garage beta this felt), the iOS versions at least put your photos in your photo stream. The selections are all the same, so maybe a little tweaking here and there will encourage more people to buy this app. Wow.

Running this on a top-of-the-line rMBP and the app freezes until a force quit when filtering, scrolling through results is painful as you wait for new results to appear, and I’m on 10Gb fiber. And to make things worse, your limited to a handful of downloads per day and it dosen’t even tell you where it places them when you do. Why bother. Use Google.

I never, repeat, never write a recesion on anything but right now I am so angry I must do it. After upgrading to 1.4 the picture preview functionality is GONE, I thought there would be a problem with my installation, surfed the forums and got it from other users, no is not a bug, it is how it works from 1.4 on. I guess this is a trick to make you purchase the full version, so the news are: Im not gonna do that, next thing after finishing this text: uninstall the app.

When I was running this app on Snow Leopard in my old late 2010 MacBook Air, it was faster when loading wallpapers. Now it’s laggy and it hasn’t been updated for over a year or so. I certainly gave it more stars than what it actually deserved.

This Lite version is a waste of time to download. It has a very limited amount of wallpaper to choose from in any one category. Better off on Google images.

I can select photos from any of the three displayed areas (i.e. random, popular or etc.) but it stops responding if I try to search for a keyword or use the drop down and change from all to a more narrow list. The photos are nice and when I select something that is showing in one of the three tabbed areas, I’m okay, but it locks up and stops responding otherwise. Three stars for me means works, sort of, but tiresome!

Wonderful app. Allows 5 downloads per day. An easy way to create desktop themes by downloading 5 papers with a common subject. Tag and set to change papers at rate of your choice. Thanks for this app.

Awesome app, lots of content that updates frequently. Also supports retina display!

I like how there’s a daily limit (it keeps me from procrastinating lol). I come back every once in a while to see recent backgrounds and get the highest resolution I can get. There’s always at least one thing I like, and I only use it every few days. It’s perfect rather than using Goodle to find something! There’s a folder icon underneath the “Get” button that’ll let me drag the wallpaper to somewhere I can find it! Someday I’ll have a retina macbook and be able to see the fullness of these pictures! However, there’s a few things that bug me. One is that the search feature is broken. Like I’ll search one thing and it may only show one picture. When I try to search for something else, it always brings up the first picture it showed me from my first search. It’s like it’s stuck on that one search. The “random” function doesn’t seem to be random at all, it’s almost like the most recent. I would recommend having a “most popular” button even for the different categories. Overall I love it! :) It’s great if you like something new and unpredictable! or you just want something pretty but not sure what you’re looking for.

Downloading wallpaper to my computer has never been easier. The quality and variety of pictures make it easy to get a new look for my computer whenever I feel I need a change. Love this app!!!

This app was working great for me until recently. I tried to look for Halloween themed wallpaper, but when I typed “Halloween” in the search bar it gave me a bunch of pictures of ships. I couldn’t even search by category, it wasn’t letting me for some reason. I quit the app and reopened it, but it still gave me pictures of ships for Halloween. When I typed in Christmas, though, I got Christmas themed wallpapers. So I tried Halloween again, but it gave me THE SAME CHRISTMAS WALLPAPERS. I don’t know why it wasn’t working, which is too bad, because this app has a nice selection of wallpapers.

This app goes above and beyond. The wallpapers are endless and super clear. You are bound to find exactly what you are looking for!

This is one of my favorite free applications in the App Store! Wallpapers HD Lite offers a large selection of attractive looking desktop wallpapers in a variety of sizes. I don’t check daily, but there seems to be a few new wallpapers every time I open the app. Sometimes the searching and tagging could be better, meaning that you will not always find everything related to a category (like Holidays) that you would expect to find there if you browse. For what is offered and being that it is free, browsing a little does not bother me and neither does the generous daily download limit.
